Tight muscles- Your protective suit of armour

Our muscles and connective tissues should be supportive and flexible. They enable movement, stability, maintain posture and support key bodily functions like respiration, digestion and circulation.

But they are also connected to our nervous system- our thoughts, emotions and perceptions.

A culture of sitting and driving keeps us in hunched and bent positions. Which can lead to the muscles tightening to support these new postural positions.

But the muscles and connective tissues can also tighten and harden when we feel the need to defend ourselves.

Like a protective suit of armour.

They grip the body and hold it, ready for the attack.

The muscles and connective tissues contract to protect us before we are even consciously aware that a boundary has been crossed.

This is fine in the short term but in the long-term leads to knots, stiff joints and eventually pain.

When the cause is the body feels like it has to protect or defend itself, then for healing to occur requires more than stretching and physical movement.

There is now a need to change the belief pattern and help reset the nervous system.

We are required to look beyond the surface reasons for the tightness and examine what are you protecting yourself from?

Are you ready to take off the armour? And release the grip?

Has the threat already past?

A root cause session can help you identify what beliefs are keeping you in this pattern and help you understand the messages from your body. When we learn what lies beneath the symptom, it allows it to shift and release.

The nervous system resets and true healing can occur.
