When the hips say stop!

The psoas or hip flexors are a deep set of muscles to connect the upper and lower body. They facilitate movement of walking and running. They allow the body to move forward in life.

A culture of sitting and driving tightens them as they are kept in a bent position. Which can lead to hip and lower back pain.

But the other thing that tightens them: is fear and worry.

When these painful emotions come up- the psoas can tighten, in a protective pattern- to brace for what is coming. Like someone slamming on the breaks of a car.

It tightens the breath and grips the stomach.

The body literally says stop!

Your body is not doing this to punish you but to protect you. It wants you to hear what it is feeling and experiencing.

When fear or worry are the cause, healing requires more than just physical movement and stretches. There is now a need to change the belief pattern and help reset the nervous system.

We are required to look beyond the surface reasons for the tightness and examine what fear is holding you in place?

What worry are you protecting yourself from?

What emotion are you trying to avoid?

A root cause session can help you identify what beliefs are keeping you in this pattern and help you understand the messages from your body. When we learn what lies beneath the symptom, it allows it to shift and release.

The nervous system resets and true healing can occur.
